Dear ITES Families,
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! Summer has come and gone again, and I hope all of you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer break. For those families that are new to the Canal Winchester School District and Indian Trail Elementary, I would like to welcome you to our fantastic school district and look forward to meeting you in the near future!
Mrs. Cobb and I are excited to begin our fourth year as the administrators of Indian Trail Elementary. We, along with the amazing staff at Indian Trail, look forward to continue building those positive relationships that are vital to student success, growth, and achievement. At Indian Trail, we pride ourselves on connecting with, and getting to know, the students on a personal level. This enables each staff member to personalize the students' learning and meet the educational needs of each and every student. We believe that a strong relationship, built on trust between student and teacher, can lead to significant student learning!
We continue to be committed to the Mission Statement of "Empowering All Students for Success". Our staff will continue to utilize our Library Learning Commons and the Innovative Learning Zone (ILZ) to enhance the learning opportunities at Indian Trail Elementary. Students will be entering a welcoming, service-oriented, technology rich environment in both settings, with comfortable working areas and flexible seating that enable different groupings of students to work collaboratively, independently, or as a whole group. These innovative learning spaces will provide students and teachers with opportunities to learn more advanced technology skills and create more complex digital products, engaging students in the 4 C's – communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. We are very excited about our Library Learning Commons!
Please review the following important reminders:
Please be sure to carefully read the ITES Student Handbook, specifically in these sections: Birthday Celebrations and Lunch Time Visits.
Please be patient when using the drop-off/pick up lane in front of the school. You have the option to use the drop off/pick up lane or park in a designated parking spot and walk your child to and from the school building using the designated crosswalk. Cars are not to be left unattended in the drop off/pick up lane for any reason.
Just a friendly reminder for parents/guardian: If you plan on walking your student all the way to the classroom door on the first day of school, you will be asked to Show ID and check in at the school main office. Please be prepared to wait during this process, or just give hugs and goodbyes outside before the student walks into the building. Thank you for your cooperation.
I am very excited for another fantastic school year at Indian Trail Elementary, and look forward to partnering with you during your child's educational journey.
Eric Riddle, Principal ITES
