A Message from the Principal
2012-13 School Year

Welcome to our middle school community.   A child’s middle school years mark a unique time in personal development and present challenges and opportunities for self-definition, positive interaction with peers and adults, physical activity, competence and achievement, and structure and limits. As your child meets these challenges and opportunities, it becomes increasingly important to maintain strong communication between school and home. Please remain active in your middle school child’s out-of-school activities, course work and school activities.

Our middle school staff, students and parents have embraced the challenge to make our environment safe for all students by working together on our ‘Similar but Different’ movement. Here at Canal Winchester Middle School we have pledged to stamp out bullying and aggressive behaviors by working together to help our students develop pro-social skills.

The administration and staff of Canal Winchester Middle School encourage parental visits to both showcase our work and to ensure success for your child. I encourage you to speak with your child’s teachers on a regular basis, and create a strong relationship with the educators who share in your child’s best interest.  The middle school staff is talented and knowledgeable, and stands ready to assist you with any concerns.

Our door is always open and we all welcome you to a wonderful and exciting year at Canal Winchester Middle School.
