Health Services

The goal of the Health Services Staff and District Administrators is to work closely with the families of our community, to ensure the health and safety of all students. We will maintain up-to-date information about communicable diseases, health education as well as tending to immediate student needs during the school day. We can assist families with outside health and wellness resources ranging from prevention to treatment. Through these partnerships we can ensure each student is healthy and prepared to learn when they come to school.

When should I keep my child home from school?

WHEN SHOULD I KEEP MY CHILD HOME (EASY CHART)

The Canal Winchester School District follows the recommendations of the Ohio Department of Health and the CDC to control the spread of disease in schools.

Remind your children to wash their hands often. This is the most effective way of preventing the spread of illness. The emphasis on this practice has made a noticeable difference in the number of children becoming ill.

Please notify your school health staff when your child contracts a communicable disease, head lice, or scabies so that steps can be taken to control the spread of these conditions to other students.
